Thrilling Wins and Debut Glory at Ryde-Parramatta Master Pennants
It was a superb day of golf at Ryde-Parramatta yesterday as our Master Pennants team turned up the heat with a series of memorable performances.
Rookie Matt Andrew made an incredible debut, holding his nerve and showing class well beyond his experience to clinch victory in his first appearance. A composed and confident display under pressure, Matt’s debut win was a standout moment of the day and bodes well for his future in the team.
Veteran Ian McCarthy delivered a nail-biting finish, sealing his win on the final hole. With nerves of steel and a steady hand, Ian edged out his opponent in what was a tense, hard-fought battle that had a spectator holding their breath right to the end.
Sean Moylan came out firing, setting the tone early with a dominant front nine before closing it out in style for a commanding 5 & 4 win. His consistency and sharp short game made light work of his match, earning valuable points for the team.
Meanwhile, Mark Ginney turned up the heat on the back nine, lighting it up with an incredible run of precision play to completely overpower his opponent. His back-nine blitz was a masterclass in momentum and control.
And all rounded off by a polished display by Greg Northam who down the straight kept his composure and hammered home the last nail for the team to win 5/3.
A big thank you to all players, supporters, caddies and the Ryde-Parramatta team for hosting another great round of competitive golf. With performances like these, the team’s momentum is well and truly building. Bring on the next round at home in the return leg against Ryde Parramatta, bring you blanket, grab a beer and come on cheer on the old boys.
